Lord Bath died!

So sad to hear Alexander Thynn, Lord Bath has died at the age of 87 of that damned virus.
One of my favourite bearded gentlemen.

Re: Lord Bath died!

So sorry to hear this. I have met him and in spite of his position being a member of the hierarchy was one of the nicest people to talk to. He would talk to you as man to man and not as master to servant.

That is sad news Lord Bath was an excentric and funny gentleman.

Quite a character, a charming man.

So sad that he lost his life to this dreadful virus

Re: Lord Bath died!

I liked the TV programme they did on him a few years ago and he seemed like a really nice bloke. I liked his eccentricity.

RIP

Re: Lord Bath died!

Many years ago my wife and me were walking around the formal gardens of Longleat.I had a balzer on that had my regimental badge on it.
A gentleman came up to me and asked about the regiment. Were you a regular or National Service?" has asked. "I was a regular"
"I was national service, they called me up, put me in the Scots Guards and gave me the rank of Colonel. Why they gave me that rank I never knew as I was no soldier".
It was then I realised I was talking to Lord Bath himself.
Yes, a great gentleman, the likes of which are very few and far between.

He was, indeed, a lovely man. Sad he should fall prey to this revolting plaque.

R.I.P. - May angels fly him safely home.
