I have the first needle threader but I've never heard of the second one.

Oh yes.... and I used to have one of those very old Singer treadle sewing machines ..... I used to go top speed with the treadle in those days!

My Mum had a Singer treadle sewing machine.

I have to use a needle threader like the first one shown but Mrs mart threads the tiniest of needles without using anything. The material shown below isn't for cross stitch. It's just ordinary material. You can only see the weave so clearly because it's magnified. Just shows how small the needle and thread is. I don't know how she does it. She says it's a knack that comes from doing a lot of needle threading.

I remember reading about someone who could pass a camel through the eye of a needle.... I think that's what they said....
