* Click on 'Start' (bottom left icon).
* Select 'All Apps'.
* Scroll down to 'Windows Accessories'.
* Click on that to open the folder. The Snipping Tool is there.
* Right-click on the Snipping Tool icon and options will be given to pin it to the Start Menu and/or the Taskbar.

Although I've been a Windows user for years, I've never used the Snipping Tool. I've always performed a "screen dump" (aka print, shot, capture) and edited the resulting image or, when I require to edit the output, Copy and Paste into a Word document. Nevertheless, I've entered the details, obtained here, on my Knowledge Base - there may be a future use .....

Microsoft claim they are going to keep updates going until 2020 for windows 7,so by that time no doubt there will be yet another platform on the market making windows 10 out of date as well.

it is the upgrade from previous versions that are causing the problems, new computers should not be affected
