I should really get a TV license as without it is a bit hard to get in any sort of Xmassy mood at all. Normally I like a roaring open coal fire, a nice drink, a few chocs, oh and films, but the damn chimney ain't up to it and I have knocked the TV license on the head as an experiment. I seem to have painted myself into a corner

. Still there is always next year - I hope.

Well, for the first year ever we aren't putting up any decorations. We have sent cards and bought a few pressies though. I am getting fed up of Christmas now that I am older - far too commercialized.

I haven't put up decorations for years. Gave up presents and most cards too. I send a handful of cards to maintain contact with some of my mother's old friends, but email or ring others if I feel like it.
Actually, the thing that I do like about Christmas is that I can be sure of not being disturbed as everyone else is busy opening presents/stuffing themselves/having family rows etc. etc.

I should have finished with my visit to the children by 10am before the in-laws arrive ( they are lovely people , but I prefer to be on my own ) then the day will be mine

I am looking forward to a good walk with Chloe dog and possibly a lunch of watercress and cheese tart and salad with a couple of glasses of good wine .
There is organic pork in the freezer but I don't feel like it really.

I will be here on and off all day..
