Re: Euthanasia

Yes great thing they allow a person to starve or be denied water to kill them but not just allowed to go with a simple injection or tablet.

Re: Euthanasia

In truth, i would take things into my own hands first, dont want others to feel obliged to take responsibility for my demise.

However there are occasions, when patients cant fulfill their own desire to end their life. In an ideal world those needs would be catered for, it would take someone very special and caring to provide that service.

Perhaps one day.

Yes - we should get the same consideration as an animal would. A dignified pain free end .....

I wonder how many have experience of any one close taking their own life because of illness.

Re: Euthanasia

Not close really but he was a neighbour for many years, his wife took him to the clinic abroad where he was assisted to go.

Their family were completely behind him in his decision and having had to help them a couple of times when he had fallen and she couldn't get him back up I could absolutely see why he made the decision.

He would have lost his ability to swallow and breathe eventually and that terrified him and she was struggling with his care as she was elderly and frail herself.
Not much help seemed to be offered to him just one day a week respite and bathing service, no day to day help which is what they needed.
