Re: Over 50's Club Scotland (part 3)

I hated plain knitting it was to boring. I loved arran and Icelandic jumpers they were so warm. The last time I knitted was for my nephews jackets hats and blankets their now 14 and 15. Then Elsie I knitted her a blanket the last one. Paula I hate to see that babies and little girls dressed like old women.

Re: Over 50's Club Scotland (part 3)

I have 4 arran sweaters in my drawer, 2 cabled cardigans and 2 long waistcoats, all knitted by myself. He also has several in one of his drawers. I also knitted a load of beanie hats. This is the last one I knitted for my daughter.
I'm a begger for changing the pattern though and adding bits or removing bits. As you can see in the photo I added extra cable on the sleeves up to the elbow.

Roxy love the colours in your sweater. I used to do the odd one for my dad. I don't know what I did with all the sweaters I knitted. Never tried to knit a hat for myself.

Re: Over 50's Club Scotland (part 3)

I buy my wool from Ebay, so much choice and good prices too. We have no wool shop up here. I used to go to a big one in Perth but it closed down. There were a couple of shops that kept wool as well as other stuff but very little choice so I turned to Ebay.
I love beanie hats and always wear them in the winter. I don't buy wool specially I usually have wool left over from whatever I was knitting and just use that. I have a great set in greens of sweater, waistcoat and beanie hat, all matching. I'll photograph them and post it.

Good morning. Dry here at the moment thank goodness. Going to make soup later and tidy up the kitchen and go for a walk later. Roxy we did have a wool shop here but it closed down, I prefer doing my jigsaws now.

Re: Over 50's Club Scotland (part 3)

Afternoon All, Filthy day here and I'm glad to be in for the rest of the day, just a general tidy up then on with the knitting accompanied by my audio book. It's a blooming pest when shops close down, especially wool shops. This is the set I was telling you about, I saw the wool on Ebay and loved it so I bought a load and this is the result.

Lovely colours Roxy. Had nieces down today and funny enough one of them said she was going to take up knitting again. I said no I'll stick to jigsaws. Made my soup today and I had two bowls and the rest is in the freezer.

I have to be in the mood for soup, but there's always a pot ready as Himself loves it. I cook a big pan of potatoes as well and add several to the soup while it heats up, a couple of plateful's and your stuffed.

Re: Over 50's Club Scotland (part 3)

A very early Good Morning, Still pitch black and very early. Can't sleep for the noise of the wind howling round the place and the ocean is making a right old racket too, massive waves crashing in, can't see them but I can hear them during breaks in the wind. Is it like that over your way too Jess?
Will see if this blows itself out before I see what I can do today. May be another stay at home one.

Paula, How's your daughter doing?

Good afternoon. Roxy I never heard a thing through the night or this morning. It was sunny here with a cold wind. It was a trip to the co op and superdrug then home.
