Meeting In The Middle!

It seems that there is a lot of anger and gnashing of teeth from Brexit voters regarding the UK giving some ‘’concessions’’ to the EU in the hope that talks can move forward.
As far as most Brexit supporters are concerned, we should not be giving them a single concession, but then, it is not they that are negotiating.

Truthfully, looking at what the UK is giving way on, such as easing restrictions on qualifications and industry markets, it appears more of a move to prove that it is indeed the EU that do NOT want a deal and thus we can walk away by stating we tried to do a deal but the EU would not have it.

The first concessions for the EU to put in their basket. Their move next!
These concessions are NOT our red lines of no-go areas such as Fishing, State Aid, or the ECJ playing a role in the UK, and any other oversight from the EU over the UK.

However, Tread very carefully Boris! It is only because of Brexit that you are sitting at the head of the table. Any hint of a Brexit red line betrayal and you will be out on your Arsenal.

Certainly in Italy, a University student spends 4 years to reach the equivalent of our Masters degree, which is accepted there. They do not recognise our Bachelors degree as it is awarded after only 3 years of study.

Re: Meeting In The Middle!

Hi

Boris said he had an oven ready deal, obviously not.

It was also claimed that we have all the cards in our hand, again, obviously not.

The EU do want a deal, but not on the terms we want one.

That is their right and their choice, they have their red lines and we have ours.

Who moves firat?

Perhaps neither side.

We will have to wait and see, but at least we are out.

Your not up to the latest developments.

2 july
Barnier hints he is ready to address UK’s red line on European court

10 july
UK opts out of EU scheme after Brussels demands Britain drop support for Oxford vaccine whilst Barnier prepares to soften red-lines in negotiations

About time the british moved on their red lines, as the EU does already on theirs.

Neither of these are relevant, Solasch.

They were bread, but frost didn't take up on the offer. At that moment he still thought the usa deal still could be concluded this year. Now he knows better, but it is too late. So hence the meaningless gesture on qualifications etc.

Why would the UK who has not only a vaccine for coronavirus in late stage testing but also a self diagnostic COVID-19 testing kit in late stage development and testing, be part of an EU scheme that is light years behind us ?

Barnier is negotiating like an amateur - he knows he won't get anywhere and he isn't getting anywhere. Merkel will step in soon - about 23 countries that don't give a toss about fishing want their 100 billion trade surplus preserved.

I highlighted a part of the title for your benefit. It was wasted on your intellect.

Hasn't it occured to you that the 100 bn deficit comes from the same countries as those fishing? Do the comparison and try to come up with another explanation.

So are you saying that if we prevent you from fishing our territorial waters, you will not sell us 800,000 German cars like you normally do ????

Brilliant Solasch !

By the way, as far as Champagne is concerned, Tattinger, Moet and Dom Perignon have invested in UK vineyards because our grapevines and produce are superior to Frances.

There's another bit of news for you
