As has been said, you can't rely on the polls. If and when there's a second vote that's the only result that matters.

A few facts.

All Countries have an Economic Zone which extends 200 miles.

Where this would cross into another Countries Exclusion Zone there are International Conventions to resolve this,

Basically there is an agreed midpoint between the two coastlines.

Territorial waters are much less extensive, they extend 12 nautical miles, 14 land miles from the coastline, again split down the middle if two Countries are close together.

The map of our economic zone.

The UK has control of fisheries in this area after Brexit.

Here in the UK Fisheries are devolved.

The map of the devolved areas is here

http://taxomita.com/map-uk-territori...torial-waters/

After Brexit Westminster will not control all of our fisheries, England will only control a small part of them.

By far the largest area will be controlled by the Scottish Parliament and the Welsh and NI Assemblies will control theirs.

If Scotland gets Independence, they will take the majority of UK Fisheries with them.

Fisheries account for a tiny amount of UK GDP.

In terms of a Trade Deal they are insignificant for Westminster.
Yes Swimmy, uk fishing is now a small part of our economy!
They used to be at least ten times bigger!!
Why?
Since joining eu our fishing has been systematically cut back
mainly due to the eu common fishery and agriculture policy
Which in practice favours other countries over uk!!
You only have to look at old photographs of our coastal towns
harbours to see the damage that has been done since
membership?
We need to rejuvenate our fisheries in order to also restart
our coastal economies to their previous prosperity!

Spot on DM.

We need to abolish the environmental disaster that is caused by the discards system that the idiots in the EU came up with. If you want some information on the scale of this catastrophe have a look at the Fish Fight Campaign that was launched about 7 years ago, it's aim to try and reform the system of discards and quotas ....

https://www.rivercottage.net/campaigns/hughs-fish-fight

... looks like the site is now defunked

so try Fishing for Leave ... and join it if you want to support a great cause

Hi

It is very easy to blame everything on the EU.

It is however important to remember that after we joined the EU, Countries Territorial Waters where greatly extended by a UN International Agreement.

They went from a few miles to 200 in respect of fisheries and Oil and Gas.

This was nothing to do with the EU at all.

The UK then lost access to the Norwegian, Icelandic and Irish Western Atlantic Fisheries.

This resulted in the loss of Hull, Grimsby, Fleetwood etc .

This is because we mainly eat cod and haddock.

Yes, it will be good to rebuild our fisheries, but these will primarily be the inshore fisheries and they catch a lot of types of fish we do not traditionally eat but export.

I will also repeat that the UK was the only country in the EU not to register it's inshore fisheries fleet.

I do believe that Farage would keep take back our fisheries.

I do not believe Boris will, he is very London centred and more than likely to use them as a bargaining tool.
