Now that is an interesting question I'm not sure what UJ would say but my take on it would be we need a cap that makes working worth doing, but doesn't make disabled people second class citizens. The problem with caps is they tend to hurt disabled people when they should only affect people able to work. IMO01-11-2016, 04:38 PM

What bugs me the most about the caps is that it is used as a form of working class/immigrant cleansing.Families that have lived in - say - Stepney for many generations are being forced out into cheaper boroughs i.e Barking and Dagenham. The inner circles of the city of London will become ever more gentrified and the outer rings ever more like urban sprawl.
It's property owning heaven.

I am sure UJ will be along shortly to reply, but my reading from his post is that he is opposed to capping benefits. I concluded from his post that benefits should be based upon need rather than an arbitrary upper limit.If he doesn't believe in capping then I think that probably explains why he hasn't given you a figure.
Now of course he might have meant something quite different but I didn't want to leave you in suspense.
