Ladies day...

Ladies day at Royal Ascot. Have any of our ladies been? - or would like to go? Did you get all dolled up - posh hat and everything?

I'm thinking I wouldn't mind going - perhaps get a group of friends together - our local bus company is doing an outing. I know nothing about horse racing - never even been to a race track so it would be fun...

Re: Ladies day...

Carole I am at my most happy in wellingtons I don't do 'dressing up ' these days .

I hate having my hair done, have never worn nail polish and have abandoned my bra Ascot and a hat would be my worst nightmare .

If you would like to go do so and enjoy it

Sounds just fab. I am very keen on the races , but mostly watch on the tv as they can be very tiring, haven"t been for a long time .Easier sitting on the sofa , having placed your bets earlier. To me though, if you can get a party up of some friends , why not, bet you will have a really good time .

I think it sounds great Carol. Getting dolled up with your friends. You would have a great time! Go for it

If it's necessary to wear a hat, then no, I won't be going ....I hate hats!

Re: Ladies day...

Dressing up to go to the races don't appeal to me ,not that I've got anything to dress up in .

Re: Ladies day...

I think you should go, even if it's a one off experience you should try it. And a good excuse to dress up!
I had the chance to dress up 4 times this last year. The first was my Best Friends Wedding, the second was at My Own Wedding, the third was at my Husband's Son's Wedding and lastly was at the Goth Weekend at Whitby.
Great Day's out and memories to treasure

Re: Ladies day...

I used to live quite close to Ascot but never went to Ladies Day. I'm now thinking of going to Goodwood - their Revival Day sounds good to me.
