Re: Bucket List

This poem is very apt for this thread for the oldies......

Today, dear Lord, I'm 90 and there's much I haven't done.
I hope, dear Lord, you'll let me live until I'm 91.

But then I haven't finished, all I want to do,
Would you let me stay awhile until I'm 92?

So many places to go, so very much to see,
Do you think you could manage to make it 93?

The world is changing very fast, there is so much in store,
I think I'd like to live until I'm 94.

And if I'm feeling pretty well, I'll know I'm still alive,
I'd like to see what the world is like when I turn 95.

More planes will be up in the air, so I'd really like to stick
Around to see what happens to the world when I'm 96.

I know, dear Lord, it's much to ask and it must be nice in Heaven,
But really..... I would like to stay until I'm 97.

I know by then I'm getting slow and sometimes very late,
But it would be so pleasant to be here at 98.

I will have seen so many things and had a wonderful time,
So I'm sure I will be willing to leave at 99.

I was a bit embarrassed but I laughed it off and told the man who rescued me that I only did it because I wanted my knight in shining armour to come rescue me (they have workers skating round to help ones who fall)

Anyway back to the Bucket List as in the title, I've decided I'm going to take skating lessons, they are reasonably priced and this is going to be the first of my bucket list ticked off.

Haven't added anything else yet but I am going to this weekend.

Have you made a bucket list, if so, what's on it? I'd love to hear.
Just the Northern lights left to see..... oh and the video of the above.

A very good post but do we really want to live to reach 100?
I am 92. I feel as though I have had enough and do not want to reach even 93.. As far as some who I am close to are concerned I am just a b+++++ nuisance.

Re: Bucket List

So I've been working on my bucket list today, here is what I have, I may add to it as I go along. It's a bit of a long list LOL.

No particular order:

Go to Montreux to visit the Queen Studio Experience and see Freddie’s Statue

Go to Garden Lodge in London (Freddie Home)

Take ice skating lessons

Go back and live in Spain

Conquer my fear of flying

Take singing lessons

Go watch Book of Mormon at Theatre

See my son happy in a relationship and have a child

Learn to knit or crochet or some other craft

Go on a safari and see the wildlife up close, especially Lions

Visit Rome to see all the beautiful architecture in real life

Cruise to see the Fjords

Live on so I can always take care of my Dad

Holiday to the Galapagos Islands & Peruvian Jungle
Win the lottery to be able to afford the holiday to the Galapagos Islands & Peruvian
Jungle

Keep in reasonable health

Reach retirement age

Finally, something I have always wanted to do but might sound a bit weird is to place a flower on every single grave in the graveyard my Mothers grave is in, it saddens me to know all those people are forgotten because everyone died that ever knew them. Does that sound daft? Oh well, my intention is good. I often think about it when I place flowers on my Mummys grave. RIP those people.

Some of my bucket list is achievable but others require lots of money, if I don’t achieve them in real life it’s ok to dream about them isn’t it?
