Re: Your most memorable concerts

I would love to have seen Queen when Freddie was still with them.

Re: Your most memorable concerts

A couple I missed. Not sure why because they were 3 of the most memorable of all.

Duke Ellington and his Orchestra - They toured the world in 1965-66. My dad being a jazz musician could not miss their gig and he took me. I was only 14 and my appreciation of music was very immature but I loved it anyway.

Dave Brubeck Quartet. My dad took me to see Brubeck that same year.

Sting. Sydney 1986

Re: Your most memorable concerts

Saw The Clash in Bristol in 1978 and they were backed by The Specials AKA...........
Awesome gig, the bands, the 'clientele' .......Skins, Punks and Rudeboys and the febrile, threatening, tense atmosphere......brilliant music , wild dancing and a gripping sense of jeopardy.......Typical night out back then!

I saw all the Two-Tone bands , Madness, Bad Manners,The Beat, The Selecter plus many Punk/New Wave bands and there was always a tense and challenging atmosphere...........brilliant!

Since then The Rolling Stones backed by Richard Ashcroft was a stand out gig, as was Springstein and Paul Weller but seen too many bands to list.

Re: Your most memorable concerts

Saw the Foo Fighters recently and they blew me away.
Almost literally!
Didn't think they would be my thing but a friend won tickets so what the hell...

They were awesome! Helps when seventy thousand or so people all know the lyrics.

Nice one, Kowhaigirl...

I've stupidly passed up the opportunity to see them a few times but I'll not do that again. They are top of my list for bands to see along with The Idles and Sun Kil Moon, who I doubt I'll ever get a chance to see!
