Big day at school Grace and her class get to chose their musical instruments that they will spend next few years learning how to play. Please no violins please please not the violin

Bet she comes home with a violin !

I played the violin - nothing wrong with that.

I bet she gets the clarinet to play.

Has to be the tuba.

Violins great once it's learnt it's that screechy scratchy beginning I remember my sister nearly drove us all mad

I can remember my 'little' sister choosing the tuba at school. Our parents said 'trust you to pick the biggest one.'

The recorder - high-pitched screaming at its worst.

I knew three tunes. London's Burning, Three Blind Mice and Van Der Valk.

I had a violin which was German made and very good quality, I always took good care of it.

Agreed the scratchy sound it makes when practising might be annoying to some but you could say the same with most instruments.

She's going to be learning the trombone !

It's making some very odd noises already and I predict complaints from the neighbours !
