Re: Travel Insurance for Existing Medical Conditions.
I think the EHIC covers you for the same as residents of the country you are visiting. It doesn't cover repatriation so I always take out travel insurance too, the travel companies recommend you do. I use a comparison site to see what the different companies can offer.Re: Travel Insurance for Existing Medical Conditions.
Yes Val it does, I was just going to say what you've said. Use the compare sites to see who is the most suitable for you, there is lots who cover your condition.Re: Travel Insurance for Existing Medical Conditions.
There's a thread just gone up on the Florida forum I use and someone with pre existing conditions has just said she had a great deal with Sainsbury's, might be worth giving them a ring, I'll update as others add unless you tell me to stop, lol.Re: Travel Insurance for Existing Medical Conditions.
Thank you so much for the info with the health card. I really am surprised that the health card allows my medical condition to be treated at a NHS type hospital in Spain. If this really is the case then I will look further into this and if its okay I will see about booking travel insurance re repatriation etc.Re: Travel Insurance for Existing Medical Conditions.
Here's the thread I was referring to, a few more have gone up today.Re: Travel Insurance for Existing Medical Conditions.
Silbee, thank you so much for the link, there are quite a few helpful names in there that I will certainly look into.Re: Travel Insurance for Existing Medical Conditions.
Hi Val, I will certainly let you and the other know whether I get a specialist insurance policy.Re: Travel Insurance for Existing Medical Conditions.
Thanks SG. I would not have known what ICU was, sometimes we need things spelling out for us. By the way we're insured with a company called 'Insure for All', fortunately not needed to make a claim so don't know how good they are if the worst happens.
