Runner Beans

Photo taken yesterday. There are 6in long runner beans on now. Another week or so and I can start picking.( .....and not a blackfly in sight !!!)

They are doing well Alan, mine are now flowering but no signs of my first bean yet..... although I did see a tiny bean on one of the french bean plants yesterday.

Alan they are looking better than mine , I have flowers but no beans. This is my worst year yet for beans.


My neighbor Edwards beans are only a foot high

Better than mine too .. I have flowers but no beans yet either!
My French beans are flowering too but no beans. I've had a little black fly on one plant.
Odd isn't it? We all seem to be in the same boat - in other years, I've had trouble finding the beans because of the lush growth!

I had a bit of black fly Janela and washed them off with a mild solution of fairy liquid

I won't use any chemicals in the garden because of Chloe and the wildlife .I have a little frog which appear when I do the watering
