Anyone else glad that everything is now back to normal. Regarding television programmes and the shops being open.

Re: Over 50's Wales club (part 6)

I'm very glad that we're getting back to normal - also glad that some things in the house are getting mended! Engineer comes tomorrow to have a go at the oil-fired cooker (again). Engineer came today and mended Rob's wheelchair and approximately an hour after he left it broke again! Engineer came on Tuesday to mend the bath and there is another coming tomorrow to do routine checks on all the equipment! Oh and I forgot about the phones. Two phone lines out of order on December 22nd. |One came back on 23rd, the other is still OOO despite two engineers enquiring about the other one and promising to fix the one that's still out.

Think I need a lie down in a darkened room.........................

Re: Over 50's Wales club (part 6)

Hope all goes well with granddaughter Rhosyn xx
I had a nice surprise this am , a young lady who lives downstairs knocked my door and asked me if I wanted a whole chicken ??? Her mother is pregnant and even the sight of it is making her feel sick . It was still in its packaging so guess who will be eating chicken for the next few days
Hope all settles down for you Sue . Our electricity went off last night and that was bad enough .By the time I found the torch and was trying to work out what to do it came back on . We really depend on electricity dont we

Re: Over 50's Wales club (part 6)

Best wishes to your granddaughter Rhosyn, she's in the right place to be looked after carefully.

Oil fired cooker is now alight (problem was with the fuel filter, not the cooker) so looking forward to being able to cook on it again. Phone still OOO although a gentleman in India assured me that the fault was corrected yesterday!

Friend rang this morning and suggested a trip to the cinema this afternoon (she'd bought 2 tickets, but her husband had gone off for the day). His loss! What a wonderful film (The Eagle Huntress) made in Mongolia about a 13 year old girl who captured her own eagle and won the cup at the Festival etc. It was breathtaking, the photography alone was worth an Oscar. If you get a chance, go and see it.
