I have seen a lot of Sci-fi films. Silent Running is another. 2001, 2010, though I can't say I really understood either.

OK - but at least if I watch some of it on YouTube I will know whether or not I want to invest in a DVD. War films are not really my thing - so they have to be something special for me to buy them.

There's a HD version on YouTube but the ending is missing. That version also has a longer run time so I suspect that the poor quality one has been edited at some point.
