Just wonder if the jolly old Beeb will have a word in his ear. Having a pop at one of their sacred cows, will surely merit a stern telling off. Mind you at 73, he's hardly going to be worried about getting the old heave ho!

Oh right, thanks.
Michael Buerk was one of the big names in newsreading in the 1980s, nowadays he's joined the others (Trevor McDonald, etc) in dealing mainly with travel programmes and other documentaries.

My lasting view of Buerk in particular was his news item in November 1984 from Ethiopia which one Bob Geldof noticed and changed a lot of peoples lives for the better for many years (until it all went back to square one again).
You can't do much about hot weather can you? Though you can try to educate people into not having dozens of babies without the means to give them a life. That's obvious to us in the western world I guess.

We don't pay INTO anything. There is no "pot". All Benefits including the state age related Benefit (its NOT a pension) have to be funded from the taxes of the tax payers each year.

That he should make such badly considered remark surprises me. So..... perhaps a book .....

what a horrible thing for anyone to say. I wonder if his wife or kids were fat he would want them finished off.

If you ask me he needs to put some meat on those bones, he looks anorexic
