Are women the stronger sex?

Well according to Evolutionary geneticist Jenny Graves they are [but wouldn't she say that anyway?]. She believes and her research she says backs it up that the poorly designed Y chromosome that makes men is degrading rapidly and will disappear, even if humans are still around.

Through her research she claims that the Y chromosome [that's the one that differentiates men from women remember] is self-destructive.

She explains: Y is always in the male and active mostly in the testes - making sperm.
That is a "very dangerous" place because there's a lot of cell division going on, she says.
With every split there's a chance for a mutation or gene loss.

{remember in males the sex chromosome is XY - so Y is alone - get it - I told you that hanging around with women was no good and the female always comes before the male!}

she continues to explain that the X chromosome that is responsible for female gender

{in the female the sex chromosome is XX - in other words they stick together - don't they always just - cunning creatures!}

in the female it has a friend so it can swap bits and repair itself. If the Y gets a hit it's a downward spiral."

she continues : "It is a lovely example of what I call dumb design," she said.
"It is an evolutionary accident."
{ now that's where I object; nothing in the human design is a dumb design - it is all there for a purpose!}

she concludes in this short article by saying: This had happened in the Japanese spiny rat, which had survived the loss of its Y, she said.

so there you have it lads we are rapidly becoming extinct and females will rule the world as we remember it in a few million years time!

if you are male and reading this and have any spare Y chromosomes please bottle them and post them onto:

Y RETIRE SO YOUNG?

ps: I'd like to find out what is so smart about the spiny rat?

bring it on ladies - bring it on!

Yes, the fall of the male species can be traced to the "Boxer Short", gone is the "Y" front, I for one can say there is no longer a "Y" in my Jeans, bugger boxers.

Re: Are women the stronger sex?

I heard about this a few years ago mindbender that the male line will become extinct; I suppose that man being the first one made was like the usual prototype - replaced by the updated and far more suitable model

I think it depends on your definition of 'stronger ' each sex seems to have different strengths and weakness and this is no doubt a necessary thing to help perpetuate the species.

Re: Are women the stronger sex?

I knew this would turn into chromosomal chaos:

The Weaker Sex?

I think it starts as "I love you, I'll give you all I've got"
and then it switches later to 'obey or you have not'

Let's share it all, lock, stock and B.....right down proverbial middle
But I am older, wiser and I've seen a few get fiddled

So let me be the better judge, just for a little while
and when you've learned a thing or two, then we'll certainly compromise

and after all the ladies have always been the weaker sex
they need protecting, closeting, not harmed from what comes next

Ah, now that fits us really well, we compliment each other
I take the lead, you follow on and I'm the perfect lover?

Well that's not what I had in mind, the fairer sex exclaims
I thought we'd split it down the middle, but you've made all the gains

I got me seven 'O' levels and a few 'A's thrown in
I know you like to show me off, but you can't really win

I can look after all my needs, just do it different style
And while you'r flexing muscles you're producing too much bile

so move over buddy, you've run this show too long
I love you too and quite prepared to string you right along

my banking skills are next to none, and I play the stocks and shares
I'll share it all with you one day, but first learn to climb the stairs!

Stop running off when I'm about to issue a challenge to settle this once and for all: to find out which of us (representing our genders) is the strongest - I challenge you to an eating competition and we can eat nothing but salad for two weeks ...

I think I've won that round
