Re: What is your definition of love?

I never got love from my Mother - I consider myself a very loving, caring and giving person. So the theory you gave Sandy, is not applicable to everyone.....Pats

I can't define love, but I do think that part of it is being able to, and wanting to, put someone you "love" before yourself and having respect for them.

Re: What is your definition of love?

When I find a man who's capable of giving it in return for receiving it I'll let you know!
Apart from my lovely old Dad, I've not met one so far!

I'm not talking about just love between your partner and yourself but children, relatives and friends. All have faults, as we do ourselves and I love them despite the faults and warts.

Pats. It's not your fault if you found it hard to love your mother, others here have the same feelings. Love does not come automatically because you are related. As I said you either love some one or you don't, it cannot be forced.

I didn't bond with my maternal grandparents. They were not nasty or cruel, I just didn't connect. Although I did respect them. I don't feel guilty about it though.
