He hints that he would make a good PM, why did he not go for the leader of the party? Oh yes! even Labour do not like loud mouthed yobs.
No Bob, 'New Labour' (for which read old Tory) don't want truly honest 'Socialist' MPs.

Re: Dennis Skinner MP

I am of the opinion that Dennis Skinner is one of the most honest politicians we have ever had and he is one I would trust (even though I can't agree with everything he says). Controversial and provocative yes he is and again yes he is rather too old now, but unlike other politicians he is still a dedicated man and is one of the few to always be found on the benches every week regardless. Far from being an unpleasant man Willow, Dennis Skinner has integrity and he is one politician who actually does say it like it is without dressing it up - what he says still holds true today - "there is one law for the top and another for those at the bottom and it has never been any different". We fool ourselves if we think things are different because of Maggie Thatcher.

To be honest I have become totally fed up with the sycophantic a..e licking that has been displayed by some recently over the death of a prime minister. It has got out of all proportion and to me it is another example of what "blind and bleating sheep" people can be. Margaret Thatcher was no world saving paragon, but neither was she a complete demon. She was a good ambassador abroad for her country, but I am not sure if she was the right person at the right time - some of her actions were despicable and heartless and I think the person firmly at the forefront of her mind was MT, MT, MT and the reputation she wished to establish and leave behind - certainly the legacy she has left is very mixed.

Re: Dennis Skinner MP

Having met him a few years ago I have to say he is no yobbo nor is he unpleasant. I don't agree with much he says but he is a gentleman.
