How did this happen?

Growing out of an unopened compost bag is this Buddleia. I didn't notice it till a few days ago. How on Earth has it managed to grow out of a tiny hole in the compost bag, it's weird!

Now I'll have to open the compost, carefully take out the Buddleia & re plant it. I really didn't want to open that bag.
