I make porridge with water , boil for a minute , add a small amount of milk and a chopped banana , lush

There's a much easier way to make it.........put the dry porridge in a bowl, add boiling water. Cover bowl (with e.g. plate) leave for a few minutes while chopping fruit to mix in. Add the fruit and a bit of milk. Eat

Rolled oats (about a cupful)- a pinch of salt - lite milk- stir -nuke !
Stir - add a tablespoon of pure Australian honey.

A tad more cold milk.

I'd substitute the honey with chopped fruit
And a lot of porridge oats in Britain already contain some salt

That ring of cold mik around the edge though just tops it off, it's like nothing else ... yum

Out of curiosity..
How thick should porridge be?
My dad used to make it that thick the spoon stood up in it. It put me off for life having to chew it.

Oops!
Didn't read this before posting sorry Lindyloo!
I prefer skimmed or semi-skimmed milk in the mixing bit though
