That must drive the till people insane before lunchtime though. Imagine just one tune bleeping at you for hours on end. It's OK for a laugh or a novelty, but not repeating over and over and over. I couldn't cope with that.

Have you seen the awful tesco advert on TV here in the UK. That silly young man and his parents . Ridiculous .

Everybody gets so stressed at Christmas with all the shopping and things to remember. I thought it was lovely to see the customers smile and relax for a few mins.
When they get huge queues at my local Waitrose store, the manager gets a member of staff to walk round with a big tin of sweets, to cheer the customers up. It really works too, because it starts conversations with those waiting in the queue
