Any Ideas?

My neighbour has just brought this to me. His son who works for Suttons gave it to him but he can't remember what it is called.

This is about 3cms

and grows very quickly into this,

Any ideas, I don't want to plant it until I know what it is

Re: Any Ideas?

Sorry - I'm much more of a veg than a flower person.
Some tuberous thing, obviously, but I expect you'd got that far. Could it be a begonia?

Re: Any Ideas?

Sorry!
The leaves are a little Tuberous Begonia though, aren't they? Seems an odd time of year for them to be just starting out though .... no , it's not, the begonia corm is a flattened disc, not like your pic at all

Yes, I've just looked at those, although the leaves are vaguely familiar ...... not cyclamen either sadly.

Not anemone - I know them. They are single little wrinkled things. Don't know about ranunculus

Edit BUT I have google image-d and I think that may be it.
