Which job have you particularly enjoyed .... Hope you are able to say; "the current one"!

I'm retired now. Do you mean enjoy enough that I would have continued to work if I'd by some miracle came into enough money to never work again? Then NO. My job for 40 years in Accounts Receivable was OK, but had two horrible bosses: a micromanager and a sarcastic SOB; fortunately the rest of the staff were great, and we were united by loathing of management. My last job as a receptionist/typist/file clerk and general dogsbody in a Drs group was OK, except for one impossible to please Doctor; the rest were OK. My, it felt good to post this! What a good thread idea.

Hi dandysmom, What a relief that your colleagues were "great" after spending 40 years in a job where certain managerial staff were not!!!

Could you not have clubbed together to buy a 'Sorry to Hear You are Leaving' card and pressie (nothing expensive of course)! Maybe they may have got the message!!!!

LOL, Rainbow, they were the owners! unfortunately, they paid very well, so all gritted our teeth and stayed. Living well is the best revenge, I have a happy retirement due in part to the money I was able to save toward it.

You (and hopefully your colleagues too) walked away from your accounts position, heads held high and a good leisure paid retirement, which you earned through merely counting to ten!!! LOL

Ah but she was no longer my boss,it was re-union weekend and she had a spare bedroom. She had left a nasty and violent husband.

A bonk aside it all made sense-the times she came into work as our boss not moving that well or with a black eye

The last time I heard about her she had met a nice man-she would be about 66 now

I loved my job worked in veterinary pracises for 20+ years but had to give up to become full time carer for my father in law for which the government pay me the grand total of £54 per week to look after him 24/7 which works out at about 35p an hour.........................just dont get me started
