Is that relevant to the scam that was being perpetrated?

I find your boasting about you and yours in posts an unpleasant habit..
As Besoaker asked what relevance has it to the scam being dis cussed ?
Didn’t the 740k include the benefits paid on her own claim ?

Funny that. I read it as plugging the sum involved into some form of perspective.

A lot of elderly people will read £740k as big bucks and that around £4k a month which is what it amounts to as being exceptional.

It isn't.

I am not boasting, I am just stating a fact. I would be boasting if I claimed they earned millions, which I am not.

A very great many! £50k is not even double the mean average was in the UK.

With about 37 million in full time work in the UK using "dirty math" shows that around 12 million do earn £50k and above.

Benefit fraud makes me so angry, because those in genuine need don't get as much as they should, owing to people like this! On top of that we will also have to pay to keep her in prison for almost 6 years... so that is another £250,000 wasted.

We need a more effective punishment for crime, like making them work extra hours & putting all they earn, over the basic wage, into a pot to feed or house people in real need.

Just do what I did.

Use a search engine to establish the UK mean average wage, then the population in full time work. I used gov.uk.

I then used a Gaussian distribution formula to establish the point that represented £50k relative to the mean average and so found the area under the curve corresponding to £50k and above.

Rather than being smart arsed and showing all the working and expressing the number of people to the nth decimal I simply showed the number as a round figure.

So not a guess. A number based on verifiable and accurate sources (if gov.uk can be trusted which admittedly is moot) and because of the means employed to extract it being accepted statistical practice.

Farshtanen?
