Re: Router.

It might be nothing to do with the router. Perhaps don't get a new one without carrying out comparative speed tests between you and your daughter-in-law and a cooperative neighbour or two who are paying for the same speed as you are.

Buying and installing a new router for an EE line requires some technical knowledge and, probably, some troubleshooting experience, so either acquiring a (self-installing) new router from EE or switching provider and router seems, to me, the best solution - the first should cost nothing (if EE comply) and the second will, almost certainly, mean a new router, better service and money saved .....

Re: Router.

Wow 11MBps is pretty awesome imho. Like Meg I'm lucky to get between 2 and 3 MBps (Mega Bits Per Second)

Stuff should download pretty swiftly at that speed.

Carol think of speed in human terms

11.69 Mbps is like a baby learning to crawl and 0.94 is a baby with just its head sticking out from the womb

Mine is

DOWNLOAD 33.67Mbps--
UPLOAD 6.27Mbps

and even that is slow and I have gone onto fibre optic cable because mine was terrible

try this link

https://labs.thinkbroadband.com/local/postcode-search

just put in your post code and internet provider. let it do its "thing" and at the end scroll down for a map of your area internet speed

Realist,

I always thought that Mbs was Mega bits per second.

Whereas MBs is Mega Bytes Per Second.

I'm with Sky and my Download speed is 10.78MBps which is fast enough for me.
