Re: What were you doing in 1984?
I had to look in my 1984 diary to see what l was up to in that year.
It was mostly mundane, bringing up four young children. Reading back, I now realise what lovely neighbours and friends l had.
In that year, we had new windows and a new kitchen. My sister got married.
I didn’t like reading, it was the year l looked after my neighbour’s dog a Dachshund. He stayed in her house and l fed him daily and let him out. One morning, l went in and he wasn’t well. I called the vet and in the meantime, the dog died.
It was awful having to tell her.
I also read, it was the year the IRA blew up Hotel Grand in Brighton where the Conservative Party conference was taking place. Norman Tebbit’s wife was left paralysed.
