True bumpy, a mediocre machine I always thought, but a major triumph to the power of adverttising. Always preferred BSA/Triumph personally...

Here's my Triumph Speed Twin after it's rebuild last year..

When I visited the Beaulieu Motor Museum yesterday I found our favourite bikes, plus Royal Enfields etc. They are all to die for. I was thinking of this thread and took a photo of a Norton Commando 950 but it didn't come out very well.

I've just googled that and can't see there was one above 850cc. I am certain it said 950.

I remember Fry's 5 Boys chocolate but I didn't like it - I didn't like the cream in it!

I don't remember a 950cc either Mary, unless it was a special of some sort? I've never been to Beaulieu but must make the effort sometime..

I seem to remember that Fry's also made a confection called a Triple Bar with plain, white and milk chocolate in horizontal layers. Cost 6d I think.....

Re: What do you remember???

yes it is funny how products go out of favour, Mum used omo, I have recently found real starch been asking for years for my petticoats, the spray stuff didn't do the job. trying to think of the shop something like lakeland it is famous for plastic stuff. miss the blue bags too..we regulary had the knife grinder, and cane chair man come as well, and I sometimes held the milkmans horses reins while it took itself round the block while the milkman delivered milk to the other half of the block and the met on the corner after the horse made a couple of stops for his lump of sugar and his carrot, not that he needed the reigns he knew where he had to stop, the kilkman left just after the vans came in, said he couldn't cope with having to keep going back to the van to continue and said it took at least twice as long to do the round. sunny jim cerial, one of my uncles was called Jim because he loved the cerial and Mum now can't remember what his name actually was.
