If we don’t pay the money they won’t talk deal.
It’s a stalemate.

We don't need a deal.

Nevertheless, once we have left it will be THEY who are badgering US for a deal, as the Germans won't be able to sell us their cars and the Frogs won't be able to sell us their cheese and wine!

Remember march this year when EU member france selling airbus planes to china, a third party country? You will see EU member france selling wine to third party country england, just as germany sells cars to you. But on wto terms.

On the airbus issue we could adjust the price we charge
for engines and aerodynamic surfaces to cater for tariff
differences?
In the case of german cars we will get our cars from Korea
or japan which are equivalent quality but superior value
Solly?

Oh donks! Didn't you know air bus engines are produced in a german plant near berlin?
You produce "japanese" cars yourself or did you think honda and nissan are solid british brands? And yet the british prefer german.

There aren't any tarrifs on aeroplane parts.

As for German cars, they don't have the engines we want. They only have big diesels - their battery technology needs to come from the UK or they need to buy out Tesla.

He is not talking about the withdrawal deal, but of the trade deal(s) which have to be negotiated after brexit. The EU will not come to the negotiating table if you have a debt outstanding.

I am well aware of the the pathetic remnants of british
manufacturing left by the Thatcher government which is
why we were reduced to relying on Germany for our cars!
The fact that jet engines are now produced by germany as
well is down to eu machinations and british government
stupidity?
I expect that the jet engines are probably manufactured
under licence though, and we should be able to adjust the
terms of the licence to accommodate changes in
circumstances
