What a fantastic job Fruity.
I had a couple of peak previews at the bar, but now WOW, it is finished.
Looks like Ellie loves it too.
Well done that man.

Re: Rocking Horse Rescue.

Wow Fruitcake, that's brilliant! And, may I say, what an orderly workshop too

I love to see a man work with his hands. My dad could turn his hand to anything, and I used to love watching him.
My second husband was a joiner and I loved watching him at work too, not to mention smelling the wood as he worked.

Although, I love to extol the wonders of living on my own, I do realise now, looking at your thread, how I really miss a bloke pottering about and creating things.

Excellent stuff!

Re: Rocking Horse Rescue.

Wonderful, Fruitcake !
I simply adore rocking horses. Stems from a childhood wish maybe, but my children had been given a Collinson's rocking horse when they were young. It was quite old and I had it refurbished about 10 yrs ago. It looks lovely again and my grandchildren love it too.
If I had the space, there would be one in every room.
They seem to have a magical quality all of their own.

What a great hobby.

Re: Rocking Horse Rescue.

An absolutely brilliant job Fruitcake. The sequence reminds me of the Richard Blizzard books on making wooden toys. Your photos are worthy of being in a similar book.
Very envious of your workshop as well!
