I'll be seventy later this year and fancied buying a new one to see my driving days out, but this one has never let me down and I'm loath to part with her she's such a good runner....Cars not bad too.....

I was trying to remember why I chose the 1.6 diesel over the 1.9 diesel and that's exactly it. My road tax has dropped from £278 for the CRV down to £30.... and it's faster.

When I bought my Qashqai back in 2010 they wanted to sell me a 1.5 diesel version, I even took it out for a test drive and it was a bit shifty, but I reckoned it wouldn't be as fast with four people in and a boot full of luggage, especially on the hills. So I opted for 1.9 and I'm glad I did, it sails up hills even fully loaded, so I reckon the extra tax was worth it.

Unfortunately they don't do a 1.9 diesel Qashqai any more so it looks like being the 1.7 diesel next time Longy....
Sod the electric ones.....

Zero road tax for me and 61mpg, not bad for a 1.6 diesel. Over five years that helps make up for some of the appalling depreciation on cars!

Re: MoT

I often think of registering my camper in Canberra or a state where they don't have rego checks. It would make it so much easier when it is 5 years old and has to have a rego check.

The nice thing about being a pensioner is that rego (and road tax) are $0.00. Still have to buy Compulsory Third Party (CTP) Insurance though
