Sealing driveway lock blocks

Has anybody any experience as to what is the best type to use? There seems to be 3 different types. Water based, solvent based polyurethane and acrylic.

Maybe a Scottish name. I don't know what the English version is. Just the small block paving for driveways.

Block paving doesn't neet sealing scot, apart from the joints which should have kiln dry sand brushed in after laying.

The sealer is supposed to preserve the blocks and consolidate the kiln dried sand and prevent weeds.

A neighbour of mine use to brush more sand into the driveway blocks at intervals, he also used weedkiller mixed into the sand to stop weeds growing. If this was not done then weeds would grow, making it necessary more often to weed, then brush in more sand. This idea of his did allow less frequent maintenance of what is a very large driveway.

Thanks Baz. I have just power washed my drive and will have to refill the joints with kiln dried sand. The sealer is supposed to enhance the blocks and penetrate deep into the sand to prevent weeds.
