Re: Doc Martin.

IMHO, Doc Martin has done more for Cornish tourism in recent years than anything else. It's such a brilliant well written, well shot, well acted programme. Can't wait for the next series.

Re: Doc Martin.

Watched doc Martin from series one and, afaik, series 9 was the last one, we went to port Issac where it’s filmed last year, the chemis5 is actually an ice cream parlour, it’s a lovely place though but it was packed when we went..

I seem to remember reading that some Port Isaac residents were not so happy about being swamped by fans. It is a lovely location though.

The streets are very narrow & steep in places. So I can understand the residents being a bit miffed, but they get lots of tourists, usually anyway. Bet it's extremely quiet there at present.
I went before Doc Martin was first made & there were lots of tourists then.

It must be really annoying for them to when it's being filmed, although I guess the economic benefits are welcome. I've never been to that part, but it is absolutely stunning. Beautiful part of the world.
