Re: Owning a classic car?

Hello again, Fender. She has a pushbutton tranny. Yep, those old slant sixes ran forever. My daily driver used to be a 1978 Dodge Aspen. It also had the 225. Sadly, the car rotted out beyond repair. I ended up selling it for scrap.

After that, I bought a 1972 Plymouth Scamp with a 318 motor. I used to love to hear that car idle. It sounded like a motorboat with a low growl when you tapped the accelerator.
It also ran like a champ, once I adjusted the points.

The A-frame on the drivers side began to rot, so I took it off the road. A friend of mine bought it, and he is working on it. It's a great car, and it makes me glad it didn't end up getting junked.

Re: Owning a classic car?

Bet you are surprised to be talking Dodges on a UK forum!

Hope that we are not too far off topic...

Re: Owning a classic car?

The Ford with the sloping back was known as the 105e to be precise. My first car was the Anglia 100e (1954) which was a completely new look from the 93a commonly call the" sit up and beg" type
First of my type was the popular then mine the Anglia and last the Prefect in the 100e type

Re: Owning a classic car?

I've given up on the idea of owning a classic car now. Going for practicality: Renault Kangoo, Peugeot Partner or a Citroen Berlingo diesel.

Wonderful choice there. I'd go for those as well
