Yes, my thoughts go out to those who don't have their dads with them today. I'm still fortunate to have my dad and I love him to bits.

We don't celebrate Mothers day or Fathers day. But, hang all that, today is the Solstice, so that's my cause for a celebration.

My father is long gone and certainly not missed (he was a horrible man who took great pleasure from inflicting emotional and physical pain), however my daughter made a fuss over me today and brought the grandchildren over too which was fantastic. One good thing that came out of my father being who he was is that it showed me what NOT to be.
