Yey! Spelling and Grammar are going to be taught again.

As part of the education reform proposals, spelling and grammar are going to be considered when marking GCSEs again. And History is going to be a `proper` subject instead of part of a module.
About time!

Thank goodness for that! Some months ago my seven year old grandaughter learnt about the fire of London in school and asked me what it was like!

Don't really know how some of them get on with spelling and grammar at school! Judging this by some of the texts I get from my Nieces-don't understand some of them and do wonder if they really know how to spell at all!

I am pleased about these reforms. I don't understand why anyone would think history is not an important part of the curriculum in schools.

Infant Schools have now returned phonics when teaching reading and writing. This is the way I was taught and I am sure that it will see a tremendous improvement in spelling.
