I don't like to hear tennis players 'grunting' it spoils the flow for me and I suddenly realised the other day when moving a chest of draws that I have become a grunter
Meg but there's a difference between someone hitting a ball off a tennis racquet and you moving a chest of drawers as they are much heavier.... I would be grunting too ...
I grunt when i lift heavy boxes for the Car Boots we do. But years ago i use to have to grunt when i did Karate we were made to, as you were putting your full force into punching something.
I think I have to own up, especially when moving heavy furniture or sometimes even throwing the duvet on the bed after changing it - seems to make the job easier, somehow..
A few minutes ago hubby (with bad back) and me (with bad neck) both stood up from the settee at the same time and groaned in unison, then both burst out laughing at how ridiculous we sounded!
I probably do! I know these days even when I stand up from a chair or sit down on one I make a noise as though it's an effort to get up and a relief to sit down I think it's an age thing

Lol, that made me chuckle but I think that's happened in my house, too!
