If you remember in the past the american security agencies didn't want english participants in their meetings with foreign services because british services were riddled with moles. British services consult the SchengenInformationSystem hundreds of times a day. The other services use your input in the system hesitantly. English security strong! Don't make me laugh!
Hi

I have worked with the Dutch.

I am a great admirer of them.

Very laid back, very fair, absolutely ruthless when the need arises.

We have the best Security Systems in Europe, we are just not allowed to use them.

The Dutch are not laid back at all, they just give the appearance of being so.

We must be doing something right with our security otherwise we would be seeing far more disasters. But it does feel as though it's all fraying at the seams recently.

Re: Why This Napoleon Should Be Cut Down To Size!

The people living in the netherlands are called the dutch, so yes.

As you probably heard four russians were caught in the netherlands spying on the OPCW in april this year. This was the prove Theresa May was talking about in the Skripal-case. Thanks to the SIS france was informed, so was the UK. It made britains cae against putin.

If the brits were not bickering so much among one another, you could spent your resources on negotiating the details of a good brexit deal, accepting there is no way back, the EU doesn't want you anymore. But in the EU even the leaving of a member is governed by rules that have to be adhered to by all parties. Civilised countries relate on basis of these contracts. It's about time that this general rule (not a detail) is fully understood in the UK.

But what use is a case against Putin? Where is this case to be tried? Brexit is like the kill and the vultures are circling.

sort of...whenever you have a pooling of resources there is a gravy train. It's really difficult to be organised and efficient as you grow larger. Too much self interest. We really need to make the EU more zen...

Really?

Didn't I read recently that one of their star negotiators (can't remember which) announced that he thought there could, after all, be a deal?

Sounds to me that they may be wavering a little.

They're probably wondering how to make up for the generous contributions we regularly make to them, to say nothing of the £39 billion they'd very much like to have!

A deal is a pragmatic solution for all JBR. A no deal is falling down the stupid tree and hitting every branch. Unless you want to play sandpit economics a no deal is nursery level thinking.

Justice is not a goal in this game. Otherwise the publication about the 4 russians would have taken place in april.

And as JBR once pointed out, a deal need not be profitable for all parties.
Negotiating towards a deal, any deal, is just civilised behavior. According to article 50 the EU is obliged to negotiate, closing on a deal is not part of that obligation.
