[QUOTE=Julie1962;1570167]

I am sorry to say it looks like this foster won't be coming after all, Betty took an instant dislike and I don't want to make my two feel any pressure they come first I'm afraid.

That happened to me Julie,I tried so hard to keep macky,my foster dog,but my two hated him,the crunch came, when Jack started laying on his back and submitting to him,I wasn't having that,my two came first,I had to send him back, sadly,I haven't fostered since.

Re: Foster doggy possibly

We have a new member of the family and she is getting on well with my two She is a little poodle called missy, and is distressingly thin at the moment. I am hoping we can fix that for her with some home cooked meals, little and often so she can get used to eating a bit at a time. Poor little thing was left behind when her owners moved out and they didn't take her with them, she was shut in with some birds and a snake apparently sadly the snake didn't make it and the birds were Missy's dinner at some point they think. Can't blame her as she was left alone for several weeks.

At the moment she can't seem to believe she has her own bowl and it's got minced beef and potatoes and gravy in it all for her.

She appears to be used to using paper to wee on so I've put down some puppy pads to see if she will use them over night.
I'm off to the shops in the morning to get her a proper harness so we can take her out tomorrow her neck is so tiny I don't want to walk her using a collar it looks small enough to snap.

So little apricot lady and she loves Elsie already.

Re: Foster doggy possibly

Hope she settles well, and soon gets healthier Julie, poor little gal.
Is she 'little' because she is a Miniature or Toy, or is it because she is still a puppy?

You'd best get practicing with your clippers for all the haircuts coming up.

Well done Julie.

P.S. Check her ears often. That breed usually needs ears plucking, same as my Beddies.

She is 11 inches tall I'm not sure if that's toy or miniature mups.

TOY: 9 - 11" at shoulder

MINI: 11 - 14" "

So I guess it depends on how old she is and whether she has finished growing or not?

Re: Foster doggy possibly

Vet at the rescue thinks she's at least three years old, possibly four. But he did say depends if she has been starved before as it can stop a pup growing to full size. He seemed to think she has never been very well fed as her front legs have a kink like the bones haven't developed properly possibly due to her diet.

Poor little soul.

Did he suggest any supplements to help her bones Julie?
Can her tummy cope with normal food so quickly?

Bet she's not spayed. She might have been wanted for back yard breeding.

Yes she's been on normal food two days now they have put a few grams on her already, when she first went into rescue it was touch and go she would live. Vet thinks decent food and exercise gently will be best thing for her.

Re: Foster doggy possibly

You won't want to give her back, Julie, that much is obvious already!! Lucky dog to have landed in such a loving family.
