I'm thinking of Rolf Harris's art, Gary Glitter's music, Caravaggio who murdered someone but was a fantastic artist and so many more...

Would you admit to liking an evil genius' work?[/QUOTE]

Adolph Hitler was a gifted watercolourist.

I also agree with, Summer. I can’t watch Gino D’Acampo as it doesn’t seem fair that he should thrive and earn lots of money after stealing Paul Young’s guitars.

Sometimes, we are shown paintings done by the most vicious criminals, whilst they are serving time in prison. Some paintings are a bit macabre.
I didn't know Gino was a thief

Trouble is Tess, you can't 'unlearn' something, so once I find out about their crimes I can never listen/enjoy their music/art without thinking about their crimes....

He's a historical figure and famous now Robert, so it would be quite advantageous to own some of his work.... Perhaps in time Rolfs work might become sought after. Crimes seem to diminish with age....

Two quite different things in my opinion.

More a burglar LQ and IMO not exactly sorry about it, he always seems quite boastful about it to me. He's lucky Paul forgave him but I do wonder about his other victims because people rarely only steal once.

Re: Evil but talented? Can you separate one from the other?

We were attending a compulsory 1st Aid & CPR session at the uni.
The chap giving the vocals asked myself and Anne to stand, then asked me to perform 'THE' anti-choking manouver. I had NO idea until then, about a year back, that Heimlich had become 'persona-non-grata' and mentioning his name was strictly verboten. Apparently,he is now, post death, accused of being a kiddy fiddler! Did anyone know of this? To me,it's ALWAYS been 'The Heimlich Manouver'...but now,it's the 'Airway-Clearance' manouver...???

It was a big story in the 80's. Dexy's Midnight Runners were just about to perform on Top of the Pops when someone noticed that all their guitars had been stolen. 'OK you lot' shouted Dexy, 'Who nicked our bloody guitars?'

Suddenly, everyone in the band and the whole of the audience pointed towards the exit and started chanting 'Gino, Gino, Gino, Gino'

It's true I tell ya.
