Good morning everyone cold and dark here ...

I am making bread rolls with olives this morning. They fill the house with lovely scents and go well with the home made mushroom soup I am having for lunch. Baking will clear up the gloom a bit too.

Good morning all heavy rain and very cold here.

Was going out but I've changed my mind, I'll make some more mince pies for the freezer instead.

I don't think I'll be venturing far either, it is such a bitter cold wind blowing.
We have a Yellow weather alert for snow and freezing rain too.

The weather report said freezing rain happens very quickly.
Apparently it is caused by snow high up in the atmosphere, then as it falls lower down it melts to rain, then as it hits the last bit of lower cold air, the rain freezes again and is extremely slippery to walk or drive on.

Anyhow, all I know is it's flippin' cold and I'm staying in.
