I would be inclined to tie it down somehow with a piece of rope or similar before driving the car.

How about the AA or RAC breakdown service looking at it for you, if you are a member obviously? After all it's a safety issue if the bonnet cannot be properly closed.

I took my car to a garage this morning and got the catch fixed, he had to adjust the catch , also got a new bracket on the exhaust, it was making a noise...so all is well now...

Did you get the 'Arthur Daley' or 'Del Boy' repair rates? £20 for parts but £200 for labour lol
