Purple sprouting broccoli

Has anyone got any ready to pick yet? Mine have been in ten months, they're huge but just leaves.
I've heard you have to wait at least a year though.

Re: Purple sprouting broccoli

Hi Xandra I didn't plant any this year after the wood pigeons stripped my plants bare last year .

When I do grow it through the winter I usually have some ready in February .

Re: Purple sprouting broccoli

I gave up after 2 years trying to grow this stuff. A complete waste of time and effort, as was growing sprouts.
