A Friend
A FRIEND IS ONE …Who listens without judgement,
and tries to understand.
Who can sometimes ease a hurt
by just reaching out a hand.
Who is able to talk “with” you
instead of “at” or “to”,
and can always find a smile
when you are feeling blue.
Who knows a single hug
is worth ten million words,
Who is privy to your secrets
and doesn’t use them afterwards.
Who can give without taking,
without expecting in return,
who helps you with lifes lessons
by learning what you learn.
Who knows you have other friends
and is happy just to share
a small corner of your world
with those who also care.
Whose soul can touch your soul
with neither being perturbed.
Who walks softly through your dreams
and leaves them undisturbed.
