Re: Lord Frost in charge again??

As a slight aside, this article in the Express raised my spirits somewhat:

https://www.express.co.uk/news/polit...clement-beaune

In short, despite our leaving, English is the official language of the EU. Naturally, the Frogs think that it should be replaced by French, despite only one EU country having that as their first language. Of course, they are rather boastful and think that they should rule the world, let alone the EU.

One reader's comment following the article really made me laugh:

"The French take a fierce pride in their language while we English couldn't give a toss about ours. Most British people are semi-illiterate anyway and can't compose a written sentence without ignoring the basic rules of English grammar and syntax. As for spelling - forget it. While most youngsters think punctuation is a dance move and an apostrophe is a kind of skin condition the popularity of our language around the world continues apace."

That aside I found the emboldened section, whilst perhaps a slight exaggeration, was a hilarious description.

Hi

I disagree.

The deal is 1250 pages long, the technical bits are dealt with by Civil Servants, not Prime Ministers.

That is why we have Civil Servants.

I think that those who live in Scotland, such as the member you are quoting, might see Boris in a different light!

Possibly caused by the Aurora Borealis (aka Awe of Boris)

Rather unfortunate, then, that we have civil servants who disagree with Brexit and our sovereignty, for some reason, and constantly work to thwart our independence.

The old, but still very pertinent 'Yes Minister' series explained exactly how they work in their attempts to run the country the way that they want to.

Re: Lord Frost in charge again??

Not one single post has recognized the obvious: Boris has appointed Lord Frost, ergo it follows that Boris is looking for a more hardline stance with the EU on the remaining difficulties with Brexit.

We know that ministers and MP's have been pushing for retaliation in a few areas.
This is IMHO an acknowledgement for them as well as an indication that the UK means business, since we know that Frost is feared within the EU.
Remember we are still only seven weeks post-Brexit.

Barmy's making threats again!

Bring it on, Boris. The Frogs have always been good at threatening - before immediately waving their white flags! They are the most pathetic people.

If Boris wanted aharder stance Zaph, why did he sign the imo crap
deal giving EU fishers a five & a half year extension. !!
Now he wants Frosty to repair the damage he has done?
I don't think so, maybe he was pressured by the remainer majority in

the Tory party to do this?
We will never know as the Tories are very good at keeping party
squabbles secret aren't they ?

Donkeyman! 👎👎👎
