Thousands of turtles have become frozen in the sea in Texas .
They are being rescued and thawed out to try and save them .

Re: Frozen Turtles

I was at the lab this morning, where there are eight loggerheads in a wet warming room. They should be ok for release in a few days.

Poor wee things, hope they make it alright. This climate change is really starting to get going now, so much is different weather wise. Not Good.

Yes! Many places in various parts of the country have active turtle conservation programs and from what I was reading, they were out in force along Texas and the East Coast. The ones rescued here were mostly called in by compassionate citizens, since it is illegal to even touch them since they are endangered.

Re: Frozen Turtles

Having watched on the David Attenborough the lengths they went to at the Turtle Rehabilitation Centre to treat the weak and sick then to transport them back to sea, this is such a sad thing to happen poor things..
