I pointed out that your graph showed that all the countries depicted
made a surplus, albeit smaller than Germanies!!
BTW UK wasn't depicted, so perhaps we were in the deficit side of
the graph?

The UK has nothing to do with the chart because it isn't the UK that's been winning out.
Is it really so difficult that you can't understand that or what a graph shows?

I've found these figures on Wiki for you Donkeyman. Scroll down the page a bit to find the list of countries' trade deficits (OK, a little out of date I grant you).

But l think any figures after the big crash will be distorted by events
taking place then ?

Events are affecting the whole world.
It will be recovery from these events that determines how productive and prosperous any country will become.
Thankfully the UK is in an excellent position to take full advantage.

The markets think that the UK is going to recover far more quickly than most; more than half UK employers are planning on hiring new staff (and this was from just before lockdown easing plans too); and even the IMF grudgingly say that the UK will do well.
Whether or not this comes to pass only time will tell.
