Hello Annelouise, Welcome to the forum. Hope you enjoy your stay here.

I assume from your post you have been nursing in a hospital. Have you considered moving into industrial nursing? Pay is much better, far less stressful, better hours - what's not to like.

If you want a complete change of career, I suggest you go to the employment office and enquire about re-training schemes.

Good luck in your endeavours.

Re: New member

Hi Annelouise and welcome, I hope you enjoy your time on Over50sForum.

Good luck with the career change, how about any real interests or hobbies that you could do as a new career? It all really depends on what you wish to do and your circumstances. If you wanted to use your existing skills an employment agency, who have advisors, may be able to give you advice on how to use those to further a new career.

Personally and from my own experience, I would never again work for someone else, it would be working for myself as I did for some years before retiring. Far more rewarding in so many ways, personal achievement and financially too.

Welcome AL,

It’s tough to change careers. Try changing a side huddle into an income stream before you decide to leave formal employment. Good luck!

Re: New member

Welcome to off.

My advice is to watch for a new opportunity, and don't hesitate to take it.
I've had three distinct careers, and when I was considering a change, there was a nudge of curiosity in a new avenue. I loved each one of my changes.
Good luck!

Re: New member

I did a massive career change and went self employed, best move I ever did.
